re Amazon the company: I have had nothing but good experiences with them. Always have what I want, at reasonable prices. My only gripe is that when I'm buying only one book the shipping charge ($4) is a bit much, unless the one book is so expensive that I'm saving more on sales tax. But I am willing to pay a small premium in order not to deal with the crowds, wait time, and rude, ignorant employees at my local Barnes & Noble. I like B&N as a place to browse, but for finding and buying specific books, online is the way to go.

re Amazon the stock: who knows. I don't touch retail stocks (stocks of retail companies, and stocks mostly bought by retail investors)

re NTAP: every major ecommerce site is either using NTAP boxes or will be using them soon. they are a one-of-a-kind product.
