Yes, because I'm currently running that in an <iframe>, but will change that later to just put the code right in default.aspx

It was originally an iframe because the production site was also using it. The production site's remaining lifespan is now short enough that I'm not using it here anymore and am leaving the hotlist as a new-version item.

Although there's probably some really simple way to have a link in an iframe open in the whole current browser window rather than either a new window or the iframe itself. I just haven't looked it up. Bigger fish.

Specifically, I've got a real fight on my hands getting higher ASCII characters out of the production system. That's what my "test" message is about, a message or two down from here.

As far as we can tell, it's a driver/Windoze problem. The production system is storing them as 8-bit characters, but when we do a read of the data from the new database server, whether the read is via ASP, DTS, or even the Oracle client, we're only getting 7-bit characters.

It's very weird. And very important that I not only fix it, but once I have the solution, have a program crawl through every single message and re-import it.

When that's happening, it'll cause some overhead, but that's about it. I'm just going to do a record-by-record replace, so the messages we already have over there won't be erased first. They'll just eventually get changed to have all the right characters.
