Arthur Ritchie's outlook and comments from the announcement:

Arthur Ritchie, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sand, observed that ''it had been expected that the Corporation would incur losses during the second quarter given that Sand was concentrating the bulk of its efforts and resources on the ongoing development of the Sand Nucleus.'' Mr. Ritchie added that ''it will be difficult for Sand to end the current fiscal year in a profit position because sales and support revenue from the Sand Nucleus products are expected to lag expenditures by six to nine months.''
