That's not a criteria for me. I don't really think its possible (except by extreme measures) or even really desirable. I believe in free international trade above government intervention to try to tilt some market to US suppliers.

Bigger tanks are required, but high pressure filling stations can fill one quickly -- about 8 gals/minute.

Probably much bigger tanks, unless you want a much smaller range. That's a problem even if they could be filled quicker than gasoline thanks. The space and weight you add for the larger tanks could be used for other purposes, or could be left out lightening the vehicle. The refill speed itself is a minor issue, but the tank would fill slower (at least total time to fill, or filling timer per mile of travel the fuel will give you, even if it might not take more per gallon of fuel).

Also, the home filling stations for daily use will be popular once demand is sufficient to get the prices down.

Not everyone has gas in their home.
