I was not short. I got a margin call on a stock which busted margin from NDB which I could not meet. I took my chances and ignored it. A month went by and the stock came back up and was marginable. It started tanking again and since I didn't want to press my luck, I sold some shares at lunch time and shortly thereafter got a call from NDB telling me I had a margin call. I acted indignant and told the person I had already sold enough shares to meet a margin call.

It was kind of amusing. NDB wasn't known for being the smartest broker on the block. Maybe that is why they sold out.
