Story Filed: Tuesday, April 27, 1999 7:10 PM EST

SANTA ANA, Calif., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Ingram Micro Inc., the world's largest wholesale
distributor of technology products and services, today announced it will distribute Compaq
Computer Corp.'s enterprise-class storage systems for decision support, data warehousing and
general business solutions. Ingram Micro will target these products to value-added resellers (VARs)
and systems integrators (SIs) that service the Fortune 1000 and mid-enterprise markets.

Starting immediately, Ingram Micro will offer its customers the Compaq StorageWorks Enterprise
Storage Array 12000, Enterprise Storage Array 10000, RAID Array 8000 and RAID Array 7000.
These robust storage products are high- performance, scalable and disaster-tolerant, and are

Said David Jaskulke, Ingram Micro's business unit director for Compaq, "We are seeing an increase

provide flexible, scalable and robust storage solutions to their enterprise customers."

Said Scott Shreyer, vice president, channel sales, Western region for Compaq: "We are pleased to
team with Ingram Micro to deliver Compaq storage solutions to VARs that specialize in the
enterprise market. We are confident that Ingram Micro will help educate VARs about the
opportunities in the enterprise storage arena, and drive demand for the Array and RAID products
solutions."

Ingram Micro will provide these storage solutions through its Compaq business unit, which is
comprised of dedicated resources in purchasing, marketing, sales and technical support. Ingram
Micro's internal Compaq team will work to identify, market and provide storage solutions for
