I have used the free service as a backup to my regular dial-up. For someone who can not afford a paid ISP, the free service would be ideal. Otherwise, too many banner ads. Also, full service e-mail was extra, although only $2-3 a month if I recall. Now that I have ADSL service I don't have the dial-up ISP any more, but I still keep Alta Vista on tap as a backup. Jim
