NOVATO, Calif., April 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. (Nasdaq and SWX: BMRN - News News) announced today that it intends to offer to sell, subject to market and other conditions, $250 million aggregate principal amount of senior subordinated convertible notes due 2017 in an underwritten public offering. The Company intends to grant the underwriters a 13-day option to purchase up to an additional $37.5 million of notes to cover over-allotments.

Merrill Lynch & Co. is acting as sole book-running manager of the public offering. Information about the offering is available in the prospectus supplements for the offerings filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Copies of the prospectus supplements can be obtained from Merrill Lynch's prospectus department at 4 World Financial Center, New York, NY 10080.

Wow. DEAD thread. BMRN off from a close of $17.83 to $16.90 after hours, as I type. Conversion price not given at this stage. That'll be an important datum in deciding whether or not this AH sell-off is an over-reaction.
