Yes, I've used PageMill and basically it's 6 months old as far as designing for the Net goes. It's basically the same thing as SGI's Webforce (which also sucks but it's outrageously high priced)...
Pagemill 2.0 is on the way and should be really good. However, I think the overlooked thing at Adobe is they absolutely own digital video on Mac and PC with Premier and After Effects. Desktop Video is the future of the Movies (The soundtrack for Forrest Gump was mixed on a Mac), the Internet and Cable...and probably Video Games. In addition they have Photoshop, Pagemaker, Illustrator etc. Basically every content creation software that is really good, with the exception of CD authoring and 3d (but you'll have to get Premier to do the Movies for your CD). Also, Adobe owns 800,000 shares of Netscape last time I checked. I don't think PDF as a format will ever really take off in a big way...it was designed for print originally. I don't know any Professional graphics designer (which is who will build the Internet of the Future.. not techies) that doesn't own at least 2 Adobe products. In the long term, I believe Adobe will continue to be awesome.
