I agree that technology changes very fast. That's why it's best to buy companies with monopolies or near-monopolies with stiff barriers to entry. The stocks seem expensive, but blue-chips carry a deserved premium. Apple never had a monopoly, btw. I agree that time frame is shorter so you have to pay more attention than something like AIG. You do get higher returns to compensate for the higher risk, though.

I think Intel deserves its rich valuation. So much of the world has yet to buy modern computers. Since we're in America, we tend to think that there can only be so much growth in computers. However, there's vast potential internationally to feed many yrs of growth, and the market is starting to recognize it. Intel now has the mfg. capacity and mkt. leadership take full advantage.
