ROB FOWLER: Thanks! But it is not just a pitch. I spend *much* time looking for a good buy. Then I spend considerably more time researching it further before buying. And then I spend even more time researching it on an ongoing basis after I buy. I have to protect my hard earned money!
I heard about Silicon Investor only recently and I have already learned *and* profited from recommendations volunteered by others, so why not also share what I consider to be worthwhile information?
Thanks for your reply. I look forward to reading the results of your independent research on this company!
KENNETH WEISS: Yes, I have as much "financial info" as is publically available. Don't bother with the "analyst expectations". If you are only concerned with fundamentals you probably won't like Centura much. As for "cash flows", you can get copies of their filings from their web site but I must warn you that it does not look healthy either (no pun intended Doctor Weiss!).
So why Centura you must be wondering by now?! Well.... Sometimes you have to look way past fundamentals and focus on what the company is doing TODAY so that you can hopefully forecast (guess?) where the company will *likely* be TOMORROW! If your analysis is only half-right and you bought very low (as you still can!) then you stand to earn serious returns. If your analysis is totally wrong...... Well, let's not get into that!
I suggest you do your own research and try to either confirm or disprove as much of the info contained in my Centura post as possible. Only then can you make your own decision of course. But I and surely others would also appreciate it very much if you do post your findings too - one way or the other! Good luck to you!
SAJJAD HASHIMI: The turnaround I and others expect (hope for?) won't help you much because IMHO you may have bought a little high @ $12 3/4 based on *past* performance. However, the good news is that *if* it happens you will hopefully recover your investment! As for a time frame, if you were patient enough to hold-on to CNTR through its long decline, you certainly have it in you to wait for either a sale/merger or a much slower financial recovery. Why do I believe a sale is likely to happen *soon*? It is only speculation but that is what usually happens when a company *owns* a great product line but has little or no cash to continue to go it alone *and* its stock is at an easily affordable low.
I hope you get your investment in *GPTA* back, because if you do then it would also mean I made a bundle with CNTR! At least I'm honest, no?
STEVE LIM: I am not a "market analyst" nor a "market maker". If you want to know a little more about me you can look at my profile, but you will probably be dissappointed! I am really *just* a little guy trying to make some money who actually enjoys having to work hard for it!
But thanks anyway! (I think......)
JIM MALONE: Thanks again for letting the Gupta thread know about the PC WEEK ad. It is beyond me why they decided to showcase Benz when they have much larger and IMHO far more impressive customers, but at least they are stepping up their marketing. They have a lot of good info on their web site, but who has the time to spend hours searching and/or browsing their "presentations"? Why won't they do a few worthwhile press releases? Maybe they don't have anything worthwhile to say?!
I realize I'm contradicting myself here but it is a possibility, no?
EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE GUPTA THREAD: My Centura post includes many of *your* own contributions. However, I coud not possibly even attempt to credit things properly, nor could I conciously post any info that my own independent research could not support or validate. So I hereby thank you all, and now I would also like to turn the thread back over to *you*. Thanks for teaching me plenty, and now let's have some fun! |
