Grizzlies are only endangered in the lower 48 United States. Canada has plenty and manages them very well as a renewable resource. There will probably be more Grizzlies there after this hunting season than at the end of last year's season. There is a viable population in Alaska too and I believe they are legally hunted also.

As for recreational hunters, in the US they are a major source of funding in every state for wildlife habitat preservation and a major source of political support for most sensible conservation efforts. Those who buy meat in the store with no thought about where it came from are the true savages.
