This sounds wrong. CO is not usually used as a domestic fuel, as far as I know. Burning the usual hydrocarbon gases might produce CO if the air-gas mixture were wrongly set (not enough O2). IMO it isn't a question of a possible leak, rather a misadjustment. I'm ready to be corrected on this (who knows how they do things in Georgia).
