re CLMS. Have had trouble with that one and couple of other asset managers. When I've gone beyond my usual surface look, it has turned out that fund management (the top guy/founder) controlled/owned a lot more of the company than some sites (e.g. Yahoo) indicated from the shares outstanding number that these sites showed. Whether that control was tucked in some preferred shares or class b shares or subsidiary shares or something else I don't remember. What I remember from CLMS specifically, was that what first appeared to me to be a bargain stock, wasn't when I finally figured out that in addition to the published "outstanding shares" count, I would have to add shares for Mr. C and son if/when they converted or sold their preferreds, etc. ....Tried to check again now, but Yahoo doesn't give me any info, and couldn't find financial report on CLMS website at a quick look. Not worth it to me to check further -- I'm not interested in the company, and perhaps you might already have considered Calamos' holdings into your analyses.
