This may be a stupid question, but which "half of all the Muslims in the world live in freedom under democratically constituted governments". Actually the writer said "more than half"... I just wonder what he defines as "living in freedom" means.

This statement is kind of correct...From what I read about Dr. (Mossadeq) Mossadegh, yes he was elected and in 1951 (I believe) became Prime Minister. But in 1952, he resigned his position. The Parliament then voted a Mr. Ghavam as the new premier. Bloody riots ensued, and Mr. Ghavam resigned, and Dr. Mossadegh was then appointed Prime Minsiter by the Shah. In August 1953 (just before the coup), he dissolved the Parliament (the result of a Plebicite - essentially - vote for the Parliament or me).
