Trump: Hillary ‘has got to go to jail’
80 Hot Air » Top Picks by Larry O'Connor

Donald Trump launched into a blistering attack on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during a rally in San Jose, CA Thursday night concluding that the Democratic nominee for president “has got to go to jail.”

I have watched so many lawyers on so many different networks. I have read so much about the emails. Folks, honestly, she’s guilty as hell. The fact that they even allow her to participate in this race is a disgrace to the United States, it’s a disgrace to this nation. It’s a disgrace. So, we’ll see what happens. I’ve always had great confidence in the FBI. I have great respect, I know some FBI folks, I have great confidence in them. I can’t believe they’ll let this go. When you look at General Patreaus, he got the equivalent of two years, he did nothing compared to her. You look at some of these other people, their lives have been destroyed, what she did is twenty times worse, what she did. And now her guys are taking the 5th amendment, the whole thing, it’s a mess and she keeps running like there’s no problem.

Trump’s verbal take-down of Clinton was in response to Clinton’s own personal barrage against the presumptive Republican nominee earlier in the day.

In what was billed as a “major foreign policy speech,” Clinton spent most of her time fear-mongering over the terrifying specter of “President Trump” with the nuclear codes. And, the mainstream media, like CNN, ate it up:

There’s a new Hillary Clinton in town.

A speech that was billed as a major foreign policy address instead unfolded as a savage, mocking evisceration of Donald Trump Thursday as the former secretary of state adopted an aggressive new campaign persona designed to repel the unpredictable challenge posed by the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

In one of the most striking speeches of her political career, Clinton dispensed with the sober diplo-speak that has characterized her previous national security addresses and went straight for the jugular, unleashing a series of biting attacks on Trump.

Missing from most of the gushing reports on Hillary’s speech was any kind of analysis of her actual record on foreign policy. No mentions of Libya, Egypt, Iraq, ISIS, Russia, Ukraine, North Korea, Israel, Iran or Benghazi. Of course, Clinton didn’t mention any of that in her “list of accomplishments” either. Perhaps that’s why she spent most of her time attacking Trump, since she doesn’t have much to say about her checkered record in foreign policy.

The Trump response went right to Clinton’s biggest vulnerability, her lack of trustworthiness. This is a fine example of what could be the norm over next several months. Hillary hits Trump hard, Trump hits back, harder.
