Selling some stocks and a story.
Near the end of the movie Casino, the mafia family/group is finally being tackled by the FBI. Lower level crooks are being raided/arrested and the top guys are getting nervous. They meet around a table to discuss what to do -- who within their ranks could hurt them if such a person were arrested and talked. Their intent is to silence such people asap. One person at the table asks about Mr. X (can't remember his name), who we as viewers have come to see as someone who might be an accountant-type, someone not of Italian/Sicilian heritage, but someone who dutifully has carried out the mafia leaders' instructions related to mafia businesses. Somebody at the table says Mr. X is a stand-up guy (i.e. someone who's diligent, trustworthy, who doesn't seem to waver in support of the mafia leaders). Another person at the table, shrugs his shoulders, and says, "Why take a chance?". In the next scene we see Mr. X walking to his car and being shot several times.
Whether AMZN will enter the pharmacy/pharmacy benefit business, to what extent and when, I do not know. I hold shares of MCK, CVS, WBA, and they've all dropped on the possiblility of AMZN entering. I'll take my losses on MCK (have sold most), CVX (have sold most), and closed out WBA. As for holding on and seeing what transpires, I'm saying to me, "Why take a chance?"
These stocks look low enough to be good based on history, imo. I'll step aside though, although maybe I'm too late to sell. Otoh, maybe at current levels they could be a buy for others here. Maybe not. |
