You're right, it's unethical. If we catch you doing that you'll be penalized some amount for slimey maneuvering (SM rule is in the header somewhere). We probably won't catch you because no one pays that close attention, but trying to do well based on artificial opportunities which result from the rules is not in the spirit of the game. The idea of the game is to make the best normal investment decisions, as you would in real life, it is not to figure out how to take advantage of artificial opportunities caused by the rules.

We don't count dividends because no one wants to do the work of adding them to each portfolio.
