Way back when, in the days of ever increasing sales for obscure tech companies, I often wondered if someone somewhere wasn't buying product and throwing it in the landfill.

Buy Stock. Buy a $1 Million of ProductX. Pushing company over estimated revenues and/or earnings by oh say $500 Thousand, and reap a 100PE multiple on the "extra" earnings you "created" for the company as you sell the stock.
