chris, I don't enter trades based on just one criteria. Market sentiment, momentum, technicals and fundamentals are all used. The company stating it wants out of yr2k adversely impacts the first two. On fast trades, I look for 7-15 percent ROI and don't mind leaving $ on the table ... IMRS was a fast trade. On positions trades, I look for at least 25 percent return and may post I don't mind leaving $$ on the table, but actually I do. For instance, AMAT and BAY are position trades.

btw, your "big picture" is what I call intermediate term.
