Unearned revenue is revenue that doesn't result from operations. For example, appreciation in Apple and Real Networks stock prices. The Apple stock is preferred stock which isn't traded I think - only MSFT holds AAPL preferred stock. So yes they'll get some dividends but no capital gains. David
