okay to my new acquaintances on this thread. Thanks for letting me crash here today. As you can tell from my posts on this thread, this financial fiasco really bothers me.
I've learned some things from being here and I am glad I stopped by:
Some things I've remembered by visiting, and learned by being here:
1. Stay cautious of people in power. People that have strong feelings about issues and politicians usually have some understanding about something thats gone wrong or not working somewhere. Even if you don't like what the opposition is saying, it is really more instructive to try to understand their point of view. If this were Utopia, we wouldn't have issues, right?
2. Remember what it feels like when your guy (or gal) is not in office. It sucks. And it can be worrisome and upsetting if you don't like where they are taking the country. And we have lots to worry about in today's world regardless of who is in power. So, both repubs and dems have had the shoe on the other foot within this last year.
3. Remember, even when you disagree a lot on different issues, you probably have more in common with your opponent than what separates you, and you probably both want lots of the same things for your fellow citizens and your family. (food, shelter, fair wage for fair work, non oppressive gov't and non oppressive taxes and a safe free world in which to live).
4. This issue of blaming the minorities by some, for this housing bubble has really bugged me for a long time. I needed to make my case for a different point of view and this seemed as good as anywhere (I actually showed up here thinking it was a pro-Obama thread, heheheheh). Thanks for allowing me here. You all could have run me off, but many of you decided to engage me instead.
If I was antagonistic, I'll leave that behind next time I come over for a visit. Or at least I won't fire the first shot.
Good will towards all. Signing off (see you next year perhaps). And for the good writers out there. Sorry for all of the errors.
And God Bless America (that is from the bottom of my heart and NOT SARCASTIC AT ALL!!! |
