I would disagree re common knowledge. Let me ask you this .. Would you like the police to support themselves (the dept) by grabbing everything of value they could any time that they could? We could have that happen simply by paying them to do so. We could pay them to do it but say it's bad at the same time. That's what just took place in Lansing. How many times would you be willing to wink or look away for an extra million for the budget?
