Barry: I wonder if you would think about something and give me your response.

I saw an interview of an Orthodox Arch Bishop on television the other day by an Evangelical Christian.

Naturally the Evangelical in a very polite and unassuming way was trying to 'nail' the Orthodox on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, things like miracles and healings and tongues and interpretations and prophecies.

His excellencies response was as the following.

He stated that He has literally seen tongues of fire transfer from one believer to another in his experiences. He stated that many in the Orthodox Church have the gift of miracles, and he has seen many.

Then he went on to say that there is way too much emphasis in modern Christiandom on the gifts of the Holy Spirit and much more fruit of the Holy Spirit is needed. He even went on to say that unless the fruit of the Holy Spirit is abundant in a Christians life that there is not much need for the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

What is your reaction to this mans statements....In Christ...Gregor
