rick, i'll address this to you since you are probably close to being what i would call the dean of the science-heads on si. that may look a little silly to you, but i have to confess i am a follower here. many times the science-heads post complex ruminations on nucleated riboflavins, polymorphous polypeptides, etc. and i can't follow a word of it. you say 'do your dd' to those of us who generally lurk, but, rick, you science-heads are our dd. what? i am supposed to be burning my brain with a dog-eared chemistry text left over from h.s.? not likely of much help.
i have done incredibly well culling the opinions of others and then buying, many times non-scientifically with gut-feelings. it is the same way i would tend to buy a tv or a tractor; read up, ask your neighbors, etc. so, please don't discount the idea that people - god knows how many!, follow folks like you and pay attention to what you think of the science involved. i have about 8 of you marked and follow your ideas. not knowing how wireless works and chips function didn't stop me from being up 257% in '99, and being a bio-idiot hasn't stopped me from being up 77%ytd.
all that said, i would like to know what your take is on the beckonbiotech newsletter's comments on cyto's proteomics division, axcell? i resonated, sort of, when he said the genome mappers weren't going around the block without a proteonomics data base - and he thinks cyto's is the cream. i am not basing a buy decision on your comments, don't fret; i piled in this am for 2k shares and got out the binocs to watch it fly.
was an absolutely great day. raised cash last week, bought on dips this - ngen, gene, and now have to worry about where to slide some off. if this post makes you feel used, ignore it and i will understand.
  thanks anyway, don |
