Q's pricing for data service,

from their HDR presentation,

By year 2000 .35 / MB (*) dropping to
year 2007 .08 / MB

(*) HDR is cost competitive with current Internet access flat rate pricing.

Is MCOM? No, I didn't think so. They have no voice to pay for
their deployment. And they have limited service. And it is in that
unpredictable unlicensed ISM band. So, if any other service becomes
popular in the ISM band, then MCOM transceivers are unusable.
MCOM can do a servicable job of reading power meters but they are
not going to be a meaningful data transmission scheme.

CDMA is simply the most efficient design for sharing limited RF spectrum
for bursty data transmission. And that means voice and net traffic.
