How would CPQ's presario and commercial lines have been reconciled,
The turnaround in IBM since Gerstner took charge shows that for a large company it may be better not to integrate all of the parts of a business into a monolith. CPQ is becoming unweildy because it tries for too slick an operation. If they has Gateway being Gateway, if Dec were providing service for CPQ but also for others, if Tandem could focus on their job and not just pushing alphas, the whole company would not fall at once if some part makes a mistake.
