re: the intifadeh

I just hope that the Israeli victory in their Terror War begins to percolate into American consciousness - naturally, since the major papers never left the desperate-Pals-driven-to-blow-themselves-up-by-oppression model of the intifada, they haven't noticed Israel's victory. If you never noticed it was a war in the first place, it's hard to notice that the war's over and one side won while the other side lost.

Why is it important for Americans to notice Israel's victory? Because there is a strong defeatest school of thought regarding terrorism that says "Terrorists always win." Scratch the arguments of the leftist root-causers, and you will soon find the pronouncement that there is no miliatary solution, it's hopeless, it's Vietnam (I have a Russian friend who follows this school; for him, it's Afghanistan) all over again, you must appease their grievances. It's important to have evidence to show them that terrorist wars are like other wars; they are started for political reasons and they ended by victory, defeat, or negotiation just like other wars.
