Sounds like she had an obligation to take him on. On paper, he looks good. Senator/Former Governor of a swing state, speaks Spanish, loyal party apparatchik (DNC head before DWS).

However, he has a major Stuart Smalley creep factor. It's hard to trust someone who constantly asks his audience to "trust me" or "believe me"
