Well, if you maintain it, a 30 year old plane, tank or vehicle is perfectly fine. Some of the B-52's we've used in the ME in the past were 50 years old! We use them because they STILL do the job we made them for, and even at 30 years old, those F-15's are SUPERIOR to any old Soviet block plane Quaddafi has! Come on. Two more F-15s have gone down in Libya due to mechanical problems. These flights aren't a joyride. They are part of a military operation. And you know from living in Oceanside....there are at least 2-3 military jets each year that go down off the coast of San Diego. I have always assumed the pilots were out of control air force jockeys. It looks like it may be the equipment instead. So I repeat....where the hell have all our trillions in defense gone if we need to rely on 30 year old jets to do a job?
