Two Resurrections - the first is spiritual, the second is physical.

Spiritual resurrection.
(Eph 2:1 NASB) "And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,"
(Eph 2:2 NASB) "in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience."
(Eph 2:3 NASB) "Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest."
(Eph 2:4 NASB) "But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,"
(Eph 2:5 NASB) "even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),"
(Eph 2:6 NASB) "and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus,"
(Eph 2:7 NASB) "in order that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus."
(Eph 2:8 NASB) "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;"
(Eph 2:9 NASB) "not as a result of works, that no one should boast."
(Eph 2:10 NASB) "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

v.1 - We were dead to God. That is no spiritual life as far as He was concerned; insensitive to all things spiritual.

v. 2- We were sons of the evil one, satan, disobedient to God and living after the desires of the flesh, not living after the spiritual things of God.

v/ 3 - children of wrath; God's judgment of destruction, His wrath, was upon us because we were living a lifestyle contrary to His ways.

v. 4 - He loved us while we were under His wrath, actually His enemies, and released His mercy toward us

v. 5- from our state of deadness He made us alive. He gave us back our life that we had lost as sons of the devil. We had no spiritual life, only fleshly life. By His grace He did this, by His own goodness.

A raising from spiritual death to spiritual life is a resurrection.

v. 6 - He resurrected us out of spiritual deadness and gave us life with Jesus who is seated in the heavens.

All by grace, not by works. Works we should do after salvation in accordance with His good will to glorify Him thereby pointing others to salvation.

Physical resurrection
(1 Th 4:13 KJV) "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope."
(1 Th 4:14 KJV) "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him."
(1 Th 4:15 KJV) "For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep."
(1 Th 4:16 KJV) "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:"
(1 Th 4:17 KJV) "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
(1 Th 4:18 KJV) "Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
(1 Th 5:1 KJV) "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you."
(1 Th 5:2 KJV) "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night."
(1 Th 5:3 KJV) "For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape."
(1 Th 5:4 KJV) "But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief."

v. 16,17 - Jesus shall return for His Bride, call us to Himself forever. v. 18- We are to be comforted and reassured of the certainty of Jesus' return for us.

Live by faith expecting it to be any moment. Stand firm, be prepared, watch and pray. The Gospel has nearly been preached to all nations. In a picture, it has been done by TV satellite and radio

Coming again in all authority and power that has been given Him.

God bless,

David
