unless you go for the tablets handed down from on high thingy

I was thinking smaller. We individuals are born into a society already formed and we are inculcated with that early in our lives. That inculcation limits our options permanently. It would be all but impossible to be born into our society and hold a value that slugs have greater worth than people. But we still have lots and lots of options. Like whether or not or under what circumstances we have a duty to apologize.
