It's not that difficult. Just set up a table as follows:


                    Market Share %

NT           
Unix
Linux
Other  
Total            100     100    100     100


If Linux is increasing and another line is decreasing, you can easily identify where the share is coming from.

Note that IDC references a 3% market share for Linux in '99 and a projected 9% share in '02. That's far less than Tornado growth.
