i think we'd all like a split for obvious reasons, even though fundamentally, of course, it does nothing to yours or CMVT's balance sheet. but psychologically, as we all know, it can do wonders.

my basic point is that a company just can't generate shares out of thin air in order to split; there have to be enough shares authorized and CMVT certainly has enough to do a 2 for 1 at any time. however, in a situation where the stock price is lofty and a company does not have the required number of shares authorized in order to split, they can still announce the split, but then must get shareholder approval to authorize more. they generally do this a few months before their annual meeting.

sorry for any confusion. i'm sure there's someone else who could explain it a bit more succinctly.
