Mary, not need to bend the knees. Mine are too stiff anyway.

But you have got to view political strategy and strategists as a chess game. The strategy is to win. The strategists have to make the right moves at the right time.

But, unlike the usual chess game, the stakes are very high in a national election and the players have to disguise their moves as a means of dismaying their opponents at just the right time and confounding their critics most of the time.

He who plays the best game with the most subtle strategies wins.
