The signature is harmless, but NT won't show you the
drive in disk manager without it. It isn't relative
to anything, so you can write it from any instance.
Yes, it goes in the MBR and will trigger a bios
virus alert if it's checking.

The drive relettering is odd. Looks to me like it
depends on the particular bios, which originally I
would have expected then talked myself out of.
You're making me decide my lack of knowledge is
definitive <g>.
