Re: Or was this flight a diamond and gold smuggling operation?

Drugs as well, perhaps?

There were likely Mafiya mobsters on board... Remember those anonymous grafters who shorted airline stocks a few days prior to the Sept 11 attacks?? Well, I'm afraid their Moscow associates just wrote them off --without notice. With the FBI and SEC sleuths running after them, they'd become hot "liabilities"... FSB and Mossad set up a "firewall" to shield the top brass involved in the Sept 11 atrocities.

Ben Gurion Airport is allegedly the safest airport in the world, its security is headed by a retired IDF General... All the passengers of the Sibir flight had to check in at the boarding gate THREE hours before takeoff.

Moreover, keep in mind that the incident occurred AFTER Sept 11, so I guess Ben Gurion's security was tightened, especially for a flight to Russia...

TEST FIRING OF MISSILES

The official, who did not wish to be identified, noted that Ukraine had been test firing live surface-to-air missiles from the Crimea at the time.

But Ukrainian military spokesman Konstantin Khivrenko said: ''Neither the direction nor the range (of the missiles) correspond to the practical or theoretical point at which the plane exploded. So the Ukrainian military has no involvement, either practical or theoretical, in this accident.''

And Russian security sources, quoted by Interfax news agency, said the Ukrainian exercises had been taking place more than 200 miles from where the plane came down.

The plane went down 110 miles south of the Black Sea port of Novorossiisk in water about 3,300 feet deep, an Emergencies Ministry official said.
