SATX Inc. Completes First Known Prepaid Intelligent Cell Phone Software Module
for Application in Digital Protocol Handsets
TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- SATX Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SATX),
a technology holding company that develops and markets a wide range of high-
tech wireless communications products for business and consumers, today
announced that one of its Divisions has completed the first known prepaid
intelligent-cell phone module for general application in the primary digital-
protocol handsets.
Merritt Jesson, CEO of SATX, said, "The software is a major accomplishment
in the prepaid industry because we are quickly moving into a digital world."
The software development task, created a digital cellular software module,
which can be modified to integrate with the operating software system in
pure digital or dual- mode AMPS-and-digital phones. Applicable protocols
that can be utilized include TDMA, CDMA, and GSM.
In a separate statement, Bob Ellis, COO of SATX, said, "Computer-based
simulation testing has been on-going in the lab of the company's strategic
R&D partner for several weeks with excellent results." Integration and
initial field testing in an end-user product will commence once the studies
of alternative handset candidates is completed, and a hardware partnership
can be created from the array of handset solutions presently being evaluated
by the Company. Management believes the necessary prototyping will be
completed and initial limited production should begin in the Fourth Quarter
of this year.
Shipments are continuing on the initial production quantities of DebitFone
Vending Machines and prepaid cellular handsets. Expansion of the Company's
markets is occurring, as improvements continue to be completed and
incorporated into existing products. Shipments will be made or are being
made to areas that include Dallas, New York, Miami, Tampa, California and
Tennessee.
