Your underlying mistake is to think people are fungible. Just a blank slate on which the right education will make them all just the same. They aren't fungible in the genetic design and they have cultural norms they also live by and are heavily forced to adopt.
You also seem to think Caucasians can't understand what makes them tick. It's not difficult to see differences in individuals. Nor to understand tribal culture. Tribal culture was the norm since chimpoid times. I<f an American came to South Africa he would see any black as being much the same as any other black. He would have no comprehension as to how different a Zulu is from a Xhosa or a Tswana is from a Ciskien. You could never have a group of Zulus living within the same close environment as Xhosas. They would be at each other's throats in no time.>
Do you really think Lindy wouldn't be able to understand the difference between a negro south African gangsta criminal and a negro south African civil engineer? Or do you mean the average American? Even the average American would be able to see the difference. I guess you are thinking more along the lines of Protestants and Catholics - but they would see the difference there too. The Protestant would have their work ethic and chastity belt, and the Catholic would be drunk and fighting. [Okay, I admit that some Irish are teetotalers and wouldn't punch me for saying it - but my single visit to Dublin did amuse me because there was some evidence that the stereotype did have some patrons].
Of course Americans could understand the difference, just as the English did a couple of hundred years ago when pitting one side against the other was a good way to expand the British Empire. Many Maoris fought with the British against tribes they wished to defeat. Americans are doing it now in the middle east, pitting one side against another, then swapping sides in the good old ways of The Arabian Night which I read when a boy.
<But good education is the key for many reasons. I have seen young African children flourish when they are given the opportunity. And I have seen many become highly qualified as well. I have worked with many African engineers who graduated in this country who could compete with the best of them. I have seen adopted black children brought up in white households who have grown up to be fine young men and woman. So, personally, I am usually sceptical when it comes to IQ tests. They can often be like Polls !!
You had a mixed race American run for Republican nomination who is a brain surgeon !!! We have Black academics who studied at our top rated universities and who obtained Ph.D's from those universities and not from some obscure correspondence course. >
If you read The Bell Curve [and lots of other scientific literature] you'll understand the distribution of innate talent in various groups. You are wrong that the engineers you worked with could compete with the best of them. You probably mean they could compete with other garden variety engineers. But they will never be doing what engineers like Dr Iriwn Jacobs and Dr Andrew Vitterbi did - way out front, leading the intellectual charge into the cosmos. Irwin, Andrew, Robert Padovani, Klein Gihousen and a few others invented CDMA and turned it into reality.
You can't turn a pigs ear into a silk purse with education.
But there's no need for jealousy, envy or resentment of those "whites" with their amazing brains. All the dumb Xhosa, Zulu and I need to do is be grateful that such people exist, give them due honour and buy what they produce, or even just gratefully receive it because we often don't have to pay for it - the inventors more or less gave it away. The bit of money they get in payment from somebody who buys a Cyberphone, they largely give away to do even more good things. The consumer surplus was vast. That's why billions sold in just a few years and people keep on buying the latest model.
Unfortunately, you have rapacious government crooks who sell the spectrum required to use the miracle created by Irwin, Andrew, Klein and co and pocket the proceeds. Because Qualcomm sold the technology too cheaply, the competition for spectrum to provide that technology resulted in huge bids for the spectrum required to use it and the government greedies got the loot. But your African bosses will whine about paying Qualcomm, not that they got the loot themselves. That's happening in Europe now with attacks on Qualcomm for being greedy despite the EU governments getting $100 billion just for 3G spectrum and the governments have a whole lot more spectrum too.
