M'lady, I may call myself techguerrilla
. . . . but I'm hardly a tech expert.
As I said, "the stocks I follow the most are somehow related to storage/networking: NTAP, EMC, BRCD, SEBL, and JNPR."
I have been searching for the theme that seems to connect these companies that have both grabbed my interest and, in my opinion, are the future tech monsters. I think the theme on NTAP's web page, data and content management, hits the nail on the head.
The thread for which I seem to be digging is one of general enablement of the new technological age. I don't want my portfolio, such as it is these days (thanks largely to Qualcomm, but with secondary thanks to JDSU, ELON, and RMBS), to be made vulnerable to whims of consumer fickleness over products.
Kind of reminds me of BASF. "We don't made the products. We make them better."
FWIW, I love BRCD. Do I own it? Of course not. Why? While in cash the last month and a half, I went through sort of an obsessive NTAP analysis and tried to carefully time a "buy." What did you say once a time? You once had to worship at the altar of NTAP? Something like that. I thought that one was a stitch.
Damn, I'm strange this late at night.
