It stirs debate. It puts the real issues front and center.

For a long time, the Democrats have succeeded in silencing debate over Social Security and Medicare. This has allowed entitlements to balloon to 59% of the budget.

No one is allowed to talk about that elephant in the room. Don't want to look like someone who wants to kick seniors out onto the streets (no matter how ridiculous such charges are).

Paul Ryan is at least making the facts plain and clear. And he's putting forth a solution. Probably the only one that has a chance of ever working.

Everything else, including the looming government shutdown (yawn), is futile. Except maybe the lifting of the FICA cap, which you know the Democrats want. After all, people shouldn't be allowed to make more than $106,800/year ...
