Good posting. It shouldn't be viewed as a bull vs bear thing.
I agree with you about the power of big fund managers like TK. (If he is right or wrong more than 50% is different matter.) However, investors these days are becoming more and more sophisticated at least in high tech stocks, thanks to the internet revolutions. These investors will replace future TK in near future, IMO.
About "short squeeze", You are right again. In general, such high number will trigger the program to "short squeeze". However, many seasoned shorts here are either protected by options or stop orders. 27M shorts can be easily absorbed within 2-3 trading days if only they want to cover. One more thing, as far as I know, Mr. Simplot's forward sales with Canadian Bank are included in 27M. I doubt the bank will need to cover them any time soon, before say year 2000 something.
