Hi Richard,

I bought a subscription at the stockholder's meeting last April. I paid $39 for the subscription back then and I added another two years to my subscription for $89 in July. I got a break on the price for the first year because they were just beginning to market the newsletter and they had not decided on a final price then. I got a really good deal. I mentioned to Art Koch that I'd love to buy a subscription to send to my mother and since this was an introductory period and I was at the stockholder's meeting, Art gave me the two subscriptions for the price of one.

Did they send you any nutrition and recipe cards when they sent you the sample newsletter? I copied this from the New Century Nutrition website:

"Each month will bring the New Century Nutrition newsletter, plus sixteen full-color Fact cards with recipes and nutrition information. In addition, with your first month's newsletter you'll receive several bonuses: a two-ring binder with 16 four-color divider pages and a starter set of six recipe pages and 10 nutrition fact cards. a 40-page special report, Getting Healthy at Your Own Pace"

I agree with you that the newsletter by itself isn't worth $49 a year. However, each month they send out new cards on nutrition and recipes to fill the binder with. I think that this combined with the newsletter is a fair value for $49.

Of course, it is possible that you did receive a few recipe cards and still think it's overpriced. If you didn't receive the recipe cards did they prominantly mention them in an advertizing letter intended to entice you to subscribe? If not, then I would say that this is a major marketing mistake on their part. It is the cards which make the newsletter worthwhile.
