Bahama, my position on the PIII is

a)absolutely not buy it

It's bad enough having to accept cookies. I refuse to wear a location transponder. And even though Intel claims it can be easily disabled, they control the switch. imho, intc really screwed up; but who am I to criticize a Gorilla?

I helped a neighbor pick out and set up a new system this weekend. I chose the HP 4440 (AMD-K6™-2/333) and a Pro (.26dpi) 17" monitor at Circuit City. Total cost? $990. Intel should re-evaluate the Celeron, which is slow, and the PIII id concepts.
