I guess what I am trying to say is it is near impossible for me to tell the difference between
  • tariffs
  • taxes (IF you import ALL your Walmart clothing, then CA's 9% sales tax IS a tariff on clothing)
  • subsidies for this or that industry
  • Free housing built by the government "make work" programs to build cities in China for future expansion.

Generally, I believe a FREE MARKET will work it all out and that is what Trump claims to want by eliminating ALL tariffs on imports.
