New Features and Fixes in PartitionMagic 4.01

PartitionMagic 4.01 offers many improvements and enhancements over version 4.0 of the product. To upgrade from PartitionMagic 4.0, it will be necessary to download and apply the appropriate patch. The patches can be downloaded from ftp://ftp.powerquest.com/pub/updates.

The following list outlines the enhancements added to the 4.01 patch.

Manipulate NTFS Partitions modified by Windows NT Service Pack 4 and Windows NT 5.0 Beta NTFS partitions
Windows Protection Errors as a result of DriveMapper have been resolved.
Enhanced Partitioning Wizards
Cluster Analyzer has been renamed to Resize Cluster under the Advanced Operations menu.
Novell NetWare partitions can now be hidden/unhidden.
PartitionMagic can be run directly from the CD-ROM and other protected media.
PQMAGICT is located on the root of the CD-ROM
Enhanced Linux Installation information.
Access Violations under Windows 95/98 and NT have been resolved.
Partition table errors 108 and 109 can now be fixed automatically.
The Help>About box no longer contains erroneous information.
PartitionMagic uninstall is fully customized.
Error 602 repaired.
Resize2fs.RPM, the Linux executable for resizing Linux partitions has been added to the CD-ROM.
Includes the new MagicMover which repairs some access violation issues.
DOS GUI executable closer to the Windows 95/98 and NT executables.
Some drive letter issues resolved.
Some instances of error 625 repaired.
