Everything went down-hill after they bought Cray. NT stealing workstation business has also hurt dramatically; things are changing with the NT line though. Even though SGI has N-WAY servers they're not perceived in the market as a strong UNIX vendor; HP-UX, DGUX, and Solaris are the top proprietary iron vendors right now.

I see things only as getting dangerously worse with Linux, n-way intel boxes (profusion) on the scene and a potentially scalable server OS from MSFT.

I too would like to hear from long SGI investors on the future outlook ?
