Although investors don't have any qualms about paying 60 times next year's estimated
earnings, that is too rich for the company itself. It hasn't bought back any shares since
last year.
Indeed, Chief Financial Officer Greg Maffei bluntly stated: "The market doesn't appear to
care that our forward (price-to-earnings ratio) is very high. Many analysts go through
elaborate and acrobatic analysis to justify this P/E, but it remains very high."

Olde Discount's Shepich added the company might be vulnerable if it misses its shipping
date for Windows NT 5.0, which is expected early next year. "They're not the best
company for delivering products on time," he said.
