MAY 7, 1999, M2 Communications - Hawke Systems, a leading systems integrator and IT services
provider is about to complete a contract to supply Mansfield Brewery with a complete PC network
solution including five NT servers and 160 workstations.

Mansfield Brewery is a rapidly growing company that owns more than 470 pubs, and supplies to
approximately 1,000 free trade outlets. Therefore it was essential that the upgrade to the network
was completed seamlessly and with the minimum amount of disruption.

Hawke's initial task was to overview the existing system at Mansfield Brewery and then to plan a
total solution incorporating Microsoft Exchange Server on Windows NT as the backbone of the
infrastructure.

This installation process was implemented in two stages.

Stage one was completed in July 1998 with the installation of three Compaq Alpha and two
Compaq Intel servers plus 20 Compaq Desktop systems for the initial pilot program. The Compaq
Alpha servers were configured in an NT cluster (for added resilience) to deliver MS Exchange and
NT File and Print Services to all the Compaq Desktop Systems at the Mansfield site. The additional
Intel servers were configured to support SMS/MS SQL (Compaq Alpha), AltaVista Firewall
(Compaq Intel) and fax services (Compaq Intel).

Stage two is due for completion in June 1999 following a further rollout program to accommodate
the desktop systems' requirement for the Head Office and its remote users. Further installations are
planned to incorporate additional network security for Internet access.

Guy Manchester, the Technical Manager at Mansfield Brewery, said: "We approached Hawke
Systems on the recommendation of a colleague. Firstly we completed a formal selection procedure
examining all possible suppliers we had contacted. Hawke gave the best presentation of information
and offered the best solution at a reasonable price. The computer systems installed by Hawke are
efficient, easy to use and have made a definite improvement in the running of our business,
particularly to our customer service, which is of paramount importance."

Hawke Systems is a value added reseller with a 15 year track record. The company is committed to
providing its clients with best-in-class IT infrastructures and products, based on leading hardware
and software technologies. It is particularly skilled in implementing the latest technologies in the areas
of mail & messaging, data warehousing, the Intranet, clustering and networking.

With a solid financial base, backed by 3i plc, the company has grown through its ability to manage
unprecedented changes within the IT industry while consistently focusing on quality and service.
