I'd be interested in hearing whatever summary insights you might get from your bankruptcy ethics class.

This sort of problem, the ethics of playing angles, is a large part of the reason why I favor fewer, simpler laws as a general principle. The low hanging fruit of law, like murder and theft, is pretty straightforward. There's a point though, where laws just add complexity without really working as planned. Look at what happened with the campaign finance law. People find ways around whatever the law intends to stop and it's just not productive to micromanage.
